CARTA is a unique smaller transit system that operates traditional fixed route, some demand responsive, and ADA paratransit service. It also operates the Lookout Mountain Incline Railway, a downtown electric (battery operated) shuttle system, and is the city’s parking authority currently including three garages, several surface lots and 1800 metered parking spaces. Additionally, CARTA is completing the installation of a large, integrated ITS system for its transit operation.

Minimum requirements for consideration are a Bachelor’s degree in a related subject area and 10 years of transportation management experience with at least 5 years at a transit operating system. Past executive management (either CEO or assistant CEO) is preferred.
